Average household water softeners use approximately 25kg of salt every 4-8 weeks, depending on water hardness and usage. A family of four typically needs 3-6 bags per year. Check your softener's salt level monthly and refill when it's one-quarter full.
Can I use tablet salt in any water softener?
Tablet salt is designed for water softeners that use salt tablets (not block salt). Check your water softener manual - if it specifies tablets or granular salt, our Broste tablets are suitable. Don't use tablets in Harvey or Kinetico block salt systems.
What's the difference between 10kg and 25kg bags?
Both contain the same high-purity salt tablets. 25kg bags are more economical per kilogram and require less frequent refilling. 10kg bags are lighter and easier to handle, particularly for stairs, upper floors, or if you have mobility concerns.
Do you deliver salt upstairs or to flats?
Going up stairs is a problem with big bags but not small bags. If you'd like a delivery of water softener salt to flats or up lots of stairs, please only order 10kg bags of water softening salt tablets and 8kg packs of Harvey and Kinetico block salt.

Can you deliver to my garage or boiler room?
Absolutely! We deliver to your preferred location - garage, shed, boiler room etc. Just let us know where you'd like the salt placed when ordering, and we'll do our best to take it there for you. For large deliveries or locations that are 30 meters or more away this will be done at the driver's discretion based on what time they have that day.
